HBO Max wrong proportions

Ive had continual problems when streaming from HBOmax.  Many movies are not stright up 1080p.  I have one that is 1280x544 (Free Guy).  This, like all that dont 'fit in the box' simply dont play properly in Plex.  

In windows media player, it properly has the 'box', but in plex, it fills the screen imporper proportions.

  You can't manually adjust the aspect ratio in HBO Max to remove the black bars.

  Have you tried adjusting the aspect ratio settings in Plex? Sometimes manually tweaking those can resolve the playback issues with non standard resolutions like the one you mentioned for Free Guy.
