All you really need to do is to enable an exclusion in the app for the Audials directory and the temp directories it uses. I wouldn't disable your entire virus scanner.... you could, of course, but if you're streaming video, seems like you should leave it on with this exclusion. Almost reminds me of when I had McAfee and it would start detecting viruses in data files with no executable header.
It happens. Hey.... at least they give you the option to exclude a folder and subfolders from there... it could be worse. If I don't get ransomware, it's a small price to pay, IMO. -
OMG. I've been thrashing around for months until I found developerx's comment https://support.audials.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360007008620/comments/360001380139 about disabling Malwarebyte's Ransomware protection. I tried it and it absolutely worked! Thank you developerx!

You're very welcome whitlehm, but I can't take credit for it. The solution came from audials support after I sent them my diagnostics.
Something changed in malwarebytes that is now detecting something audials does during the join phase. Someone else pointed out that you could add an exclusion to audials so that you don't need to turn ransomware protection off altogether. In my case, the machine audials is on is isolated and there's nothing but some movies on it.

My Audials was working perfectly until I updated my AMD Ryzen 2700X drivers then not so much got the Failed message after every song.
Disabled Malwarebytes and recordings finished just fine (as a test)
No need to turn off Malwarebytes or open up the computer to ransomware just allow Audials as an Exclusion in ransomware do the following.
Open Malwarebytes for Windows.
Click the Detection History card.
Click the Allow List tab.
To add an item to the Allow List, click Add.
Select the type of exclusion you want to add.
C:\User\Program Files (X86) Audials
Select ONLY Ransomware
