Charging annual fees now??

Can I no longer buy a version and get patches for a couple years? I would assume that this would be an option but my "upgrade" button is taking me to a page that if you read carefully in light grey is says "this is a subscription service" seriously? I was looking into getting version 2027 when you guys release them like new cars since i have a more powerful computer but im not wanting to commit myself to annual renewals or purchasing it then unlinking paypal and have it invalidate my license or something after a year.

I could still install 2022 if i wanted and i own 2022, 2023, and 2024

what gives? guys i know alot of everything is going to subscriptions but some things just shouldnt. Cyberlink has done it to my director suite also and im stuck on director suite 5

Charging annual fees now??
