    Hello,

we are sorry for this situation and advise you to completely remove Audials and install it again:

You should be able to uninstall all Audials versions via the Windows Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Programs and Features).

Please also use Revo Uninstaller (https://www.revouninstaller.com/de/revo-uninstaller-free-download/)  to remove all traces of Audials.

Then please restart your computer, temporarily disable your firewall/antivirus program, and install the latest Audials version as administrator from here:

    - Audials 2026:

    - Older Audials versions:

    Thank you!

I have the same issue. Screen recording worked a week ago. Today windows forced 2 updates and audials 2025 gives that message. I tried the "workaround of uninstalling sound drivers, reinstalling them and then restating windows and then audials but problem remains

I followed the instructions "workaround of uninstalling sound drivers, reinstalling them and then restarting windows and then audials", but I continue to get the message "cannot start recording . . ." and the timer does not work, either.

    Is anyone reading these comments?

I upgraded to audial 2026 and that fixed the problem. However I received advice later from audial support suggesting I redownload audial 2025 and reinstall it. As I had already purchased the 2026 version and deleted 2025, I don’t know if this would fix the problem.

I appreciate your response. I didn't want to upgrade, but I had some time-sensitive things to record, so I did.

    This issue was fixed in:

Screen recording/Continuous sound card recording not working because of a recent Windows  update (most probably Windows update version 26200.7019) (reported on 2025-10-30, fixed on 2025-11-04 in Streaming Service 3.3.980.0!!!)

My streaming service in Audials 2024 is still at 3.3.976.0. When will I get the auto update?

Also, the real workaround is to manually change your sound output device to "Audials Sound Capturing" before recording. Then change back to speaker for playback.

Unfortunately did not work for me. I upgraded to 2026 and switched to the audials driver. I don’t get the error message now, but audials cannot find the audio stream. I

I was able to get 2025 to work by uninstalling 2025 and then reinstalling the latest version of 2025.

thanks, also verified with support that need to uninstalled 2024 and reinstalled the latest to get the latest version of streaming service. This worked. They recommend deleting entire folder C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Audials after uninstall but I didn't have to do this. Might want to try that also if you still have issues.
