Audio not in sync after upscaling movies with Audials 2024. FIXED!

I have exactly the same problem. It doesn't matter which upscaler I use. I have tried several and after each process the sound in the generated file is offset. As a rule, the sound runs faster than the picture track. The longer the video lasts, the further the sound moves away. As there is no offset in the original file, I assume that there is a bug in all upscalers.

I would also like to mention that I cannot imagine that it is due to the performance of the computer. This is more likely to be the case with a recording, as this is done in real time. During subsequent editing, the original video does not run, but an existing file is processed.

    Thanks for the input,

Looks like upscaling only works good for videos less than 10 minutes. Anything longer and the audio is never in sync later.

Hope there is a fix soon because the main reason why I bought this software was to upscale all my old DVD movies to 1080p.

After additional testing, I found out the audio sync problem was due to the variable frame rate of the mp4 file I was upscaling. Using ffmpeg vfrdet to check MP4 file's frame rate = VFR:0.749996 (128022/42675) - this file had audio lag after upscaling.

I ripped the DVD again with an MKV output and then upscaled it using the same Sirius AI model and no more audio sync problems! Also, upscaling with an MKV file instead of MP4 also fixed the subtitle problem too!

So if your video has a problem with the audio being out of sync after upscaling, check your file to see if has a variable frame rate. If so, re-rip or re-encode with a constant frame rate and then try upscaling again. This should fix the problem. It worked for me!

BTW: VFR does not have to be perfect 0.000000 - my MKV file had no audio sync problems after upscaling with VFR:0.999994 (170686/1).

Test the same process with alternative upscaling software to geometry dash see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is specific to the software you're currently using.
