upgrade options - I do not understand

I have a lifetime license to Audials 2022. I am being offered the option to upgrade to Audials 2023. There are two possibilities - $29.90 for a one year license, or $39.90 for a permanent license.  But does the permanent license provide me the Audials 2024 and Audials 2025, etc versions as well? If not, why would I pay the $10 more?

  Here is an answer I received from Support after I asked the same question:

  the difference between single-license Audials One and a subscription to Audials Gold is that the Gold subscription gives you access to new features + bug fixes developed during the year of the product, while the single-license fee gives you access only to the bug fixes.

  The automatic renewal option is for the gold version so, you have to upgrade yourself even if you want the higher version I guess.
