Quality issues when reencoding video

when I use the video editor to edit out commercials from a stream and crop it. I am forced to reencode the video and its brings the quality down a lot.  Is there a way to do all of that and keep the same quality ? what settings does anyone recommend ? I am using audials one 2022 my processer is a  i7-10700 with 16gb ram
