Audials is changing the aspect ratio of an old 50's TV series on Amazon video. It's stretching it from 4:3 to widescreen when it doesn't show this way while recording. I don't want it stretched and don't understand why it plays back stretched in all different players tried, so it isn't a playback thing. I tried using various choices of presets(Netflix. Hulu, Starz) and they all did the same thing(Note: I tried these presets on Amazon site just to see if they gave same results, which it did). I've had this problem before and was able to get it to record correctly by chance. Nobody should have to go by chance and hope to get it to work properly. I've tried several different encoding settings in mp4 and mkv, mkv being what I'd like. Tried the "Match Original file size" choices. EDIT: Seems the DivX setting for highest SD doesn't stretch the video, but I'd prefer mkv. ANOTHER EDIT! I was wrong with last edit. I clearly got lucky when testing the DivX setting cause it stretched when I recorded the full episode. This needs fixing please. This shouldn't be a crap shoot.
Unless there is something I'm missing in settings, Audials needs to make a setting to force the correct aspect ratio be maintained throughout recording so the final product looks as originally intended. If someone wants 4:3 stretched to 16:9 widescreen, that should happen during another conversion after the fact.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
