Audials One 2020 suddenly won't record video

I've been using this software and its predecessors for years without problems, but now seem to have an insoluble issue.

I was recording some TV from a stream with no problems, recording some old series to watch off line. I was using the High Quality Direct Recording - Record One Video option for adaptive streaming recording quite happily. Then mid way through a series I started getting failed recordings. It shows in the record floating window that it is recording happily all the way through. After I stop the recording it doesn't show a problem. But if I then go to look at Recent Recordings it shows the file I just made, with a big red Error box. It isn't doing the processing/join process which normally takes a few minutes. If I click on the red error box it offers me to 'save as a different quality, Save as audio file MP3. It seems to have recorded the whole thing but then be unable to decode the video. Although the video floating window shows it recording at 1024x576 - which is the stream's native resolution, the Recent Recordings window shows it is 1280x720, even if I manually set the maximum stream size to the native width.

I wondered whether the broadcaster had changed coding, so I went back to try to re-record something which had worked earlier in the day. Same problem. The new recording fails even though the same stream recorded fine earlier.

I tried using Chrome instead of Firefox. Same problem.

I tried reverting to Audials One 2019. Same problem.

I then tried recording a screen recording using manual area setting, on a different stream which always records fine. Same problem.

I wondered if the disk getting fuller was the problem, so emptied it out. Same problem.

Nothing changed in Windows between when it was working and now it's not - no updates or anything.

I'm baffled. Can anyone help, please?

I found another post relating to music streaming failing which mentioned Malware Bytes as a cause. I remembered that MB wanted to update recently and I let it, so thought that this maybe changed something. So I tried disabling all protection in MB and doing another screen recording, and Voila! It works again. I haven't tried adaptive stream recording yet, but I am hopeful that this too will be ok again.

Have now tried adaptive recording and that's fine too. Now I just need to figure out how to configure MB so it gives protection without messing up recordings.
