    Could you please check if there is any driver update for your soundcard? If so, please install it.

    Also, please check that after reboot that your physical sound output is selected as default sound output device. In case another sound device is chosen, changing loudness level would not effect on your physical sound card.

    ok think i already had the latest drivers but downloaded and installed anyways, was from 2014, after that I reinstalled Audials One, and it worked fine until i rebooted. on boot up the windows chime started then was cut off half way, check the volume control and found it set at minimum and I'm not able to change it. verified my output device and its set correctly.

    after uninstalling and rebooting volume control works properly again. clearly something is conflicting. I just don't know what.

    ok just in case someone else has this problem, it seems the solution was to install as administrator. to be clear, instead of just double clicking the install file, right click on it and select the "run as administrator" option. looks like if you don't the drivers don't install properly.
