Crunchyroll's adaptive streaming is breaking my recordings

Since Crunchyroll switched its quality settings to "high", "medium" and "low" (adaptive bitrate streaming) instead of selecting a fixed quality, recording has been dreadful. You basically have to get lucky that the choosen quality stays for an entire episode (or movie). If not, your recording has audio cuts or entire seconds of the video missing because the quality decided to switch. (And yes: I have a stable internet connection and tried wired and wireless connection. I even tried to mess around a bit with Firefox' about:config but nothing worked for me. Switching to Chrome or the internal player of Audials changed nothing.) Does anyone have a workaround for this? That would be really awesome. I don't want to gamble (with Crunchyroll) anymore.

  I think Crunchyroll uses adaptive bitrate streaming, so quality can change anytime. That breaks recordings in tools like Audials, even with a stable connection.

  You should let the video buffer before recording or avoid touching playback.
