Audials 2024 Ultra Video AI processing very Sloooooooooooooooow

I have movies originally on Super 8 and VHS that have been converted to digital. Naturally the quality is not the greatest. This prompted me to purchase the 2024 Ultra version to improve the quality of these movies with the AI capabilities.

I now know using a long movie, 2 hours, as my first example was not a good choice. The source is Super 8 movies converted to digital. 478p to 956p, MP4 to MP4, 8 bit color to 10 bit color, 1 audio layer to 2 audio layers.

The highest quality selection gave an estimate of 3+ days. I went with a lower, faster choice that gave an estimate of 4 hours. It has now been running almost 3 days! The current status is Improve colors 50%.

Just a heads-up that these processes are going to take a long time! My system is a Dell Inspiron 7000, Windows 11, Intel Core i7, 16GB memory, GeForce MX250, 512GB SSD + 32GB Optane. GPU usage varies around 92%. CPU around 40%. Memory 75%. Most of the time I exit almost all other processes.

By the time I realized this was going to take days, I felt I had committed too much resources to stop the process as I would like the quality improved.

I'll update if the final result is much improved.

I simply want to inform about the processing commitment needed. A very powerful GPU and short movies. Long movies should probably be divided into shorter parts.

    I have tried using AI Upscaling a few times.  I am using a fairly high powered gaming computer and the times for getting higher quality are extremely long.  So long I just don't consider using it.  I will say that the one movie that I allowed to run AI upscaling to completion did look notably better than the original.

    For me, it just isn't worth the time.

    Mirela,

    What is a realistic time to expect for processing a 2 hour movie?  I know I tried the fastest and it was quick, but the results were negligible.   The one I referenced that looked really good took 1.5 days.

    The process just died with the message, "Error: Hardware performance insufficient to complete the improvement job".

    Probably going to forget the 2024 Ultra version for AI and use my 2023 version for other tasks..

    Purchased the 2024 Audials Ultra upgrade expecting good AI video improvement results and am getting the following:

    "Error hardware insufficient to complete the improvement job" - after running for 8+ hours.. 

    57.01 minute 4k video task = insert Frames 2X.

    Computer 2023 Alien R15 Ryzen liquid cooled gaming computer.

    @ June 22 2024 = all current updates applied.

    Am ready to abandon Audials.

    Already have Wondershare #15 am considering spending a little more on Wondershare "Repairit" - with AI enhancement. "Perpetual" = S100.
