It doesn't use very much CPU power, it utilizes your graphics processor. I'm using a RTX 3070 TI, it took about 5 hours to upscale a video of 1920x1080 using Sirius.
Yes, you can use the AI on any video, you just drag and drop it onto the AI screen.
It does all the AI stuff on your computer, I didn't see any internet traffic during the upscaling.
I'm not sure about the type of GPU card, but conversion time is related to GPU power and which AI model you use.
But I do have to say it did a great job upscaling my video. I'm really happy with it's improvements

    Thank you for that information.

My graphics card is a GTX 1050 Ti,. It only has 4GB of VRAM and 768 cores. I've heard that the RTX cards have features designed for AI, the GTX cards haven't got this.

I can't find any minimum specification on the Audials website, I think it would be a good idea for them to include this. I might try the demo version to see if it works on my PC. I've had two versions installed OK after an upgrade so I hope I can install the 2024 Ultra demo and still use my 2023 installation. 5 hours on an RTX 3070 Ti could end up being days on my computer, can you suspend a conversion and resume it later?

I don't believe the RTX cards have a special AI chip, I believe it's the parallel processing capabilities and the driver Nvida has that make it very useful for Bitcoin mining and AI. Nvida does have a dedicated AI chip, but as far as I know it's not used in any of their graphics cards
Yes, I do remember it says you can stop the AI processing and resume where you left off in the documentation.
I believe the GTX cards are similar to the RTX cards in that ability. I have a GTX1050 ti in another computer, great card, but yes, it would probably take a week to run a hour and a half move.
But again, the Sirius AI model I used is the slowest one, but has the best results. There are others that are much faster.
But definitely download the demo and test it out first. But the results are pretty awesome.

I have a laptop with a AMD RX 6650 gfx which is about the same as a 3070 NVidia card. I've been having no problems upscaling both old (filmed outside of Audials and way before HD was even created) and newer videos. Admittedly it takes a few hours to get the job done.  I've been an Audials user for 2 years now and I can not be happier with the new upscaling features.

I've tried the demo. It does work in my computer but I'm not impressed by the way they demonstrate it. The enhancement functions only let you process a few seconds of video, which is reasonable, but they won't save a file and they only preview it in a small window. So I'm left looking at an upscaled video in a smaller window than the original. I'm still considering whether to upgrade to the full version, I probably will though.

I just went to the store to see about upgrading to the Ultra 2024. What I found out was that the upgrade offer was not to Ultra but only to standard, and Ultra is not a one-off payment it's a subscription that I would have to keep paying every year if I want to keep on using it. I hate subscription software so I won't be buying it.

How do you get Audials to use the GPU when upscaling videos? I have a GTX 1660 Super and it's barely being utilized when upscaling. My CPU usage is near 100% when upscaling a video though.

AI calculations can be performed locally on your computer or cloud-based servers, depending on the design of the software. Some AI features may require an internet connection mapquest to access cloud-based processing, while others might be done locally without the need for an internet connection. Again, the specific details will be outlined in the software documentation.

Audial 2024 Ultra has modest system requirements for Windows 10 bypassing the need for a powerful CPU or Graphics card. AI enhancements extend to old recordings and there is no necessity for a connection to a cloud based server.
