Record streaming video from Youtube TV

Hello. Just purchased audials 2023 to record streaming video from YouTube TV. The resulting video output to WMV is not recognized by any of my video editing software. I re-recorded using MKV and MP4 and my editing software does not recognize the format or it causes it to crash after it loads. What is the workaround for this? Is it due to DRM encryption? If so, this is disappointing as that is the main reason for purchasing the software. Any help would be appreciated.
