Hi, 

Do I have to listen to the music being played as I am recording for the recording to be effective? 

Can I mute the player (ie mute the Spotify app) without compromising the recording, allowing me to listen to other music from another site at the same time?

  If you have 2 sound cards installed it's possible but not recommended as I have tried it
