In Audials we do not have a separate setting for Aspect Ratio, the detection is done automatically. Have you already tried to create a custom profile with exact or original bit rate/frame size/ frame rate? for older movies you have to try more settings, we can not give you an exact output, because it depends a lot on the original file.

    Thank you for understanding !

Me too. In my case I'm trying to convert a mov file - taken from a phone in portrait, to mp4 so its more compatible with various hardware. But no matter what I try in terms of profile, it stretches it to widescreen. If the detection is supposed to be done "automatically" as Denisa states, then this simply doesn't work properly. "Thank you for your understanding" is all very nice, but I don't understand -  it's a big bug!

I learned a few things by accident after being asked "if I had done certain things yet" by support. After choosing a profile you want to use, go back to choosing a profile and select "Other or Custom" again and then click on "Create Custom Profile". You will see multiple settings. They are set at values determined by Audials. Now, you need to know what the aspect ratio is of the original video. Now you want to select 'Frame' and tick the "Exact" selection and then pick from the list of choices that matches your video. If it's not listed you can input the frame size in the box right above the list of choices. You'll get a warning about picking your own setting but if you have the right size it will hold that size to your parameters.

Audials auto settings seem to be problematic when it comes to 'Frame' and 'Frame Rate'. The user needs to run tests on videos to learn the proper 'Frame Rate' the video is playing from the source by letting them run for a bit and read what it says after about a minute in the Audials Record box. Settings have to be in "Automatic" during the test and then set to 'Fixed' once you find out the right number(23.98, 25.00, 29.97, 60, etc......)

I'm gonna be asking Audials what "Maximal" means in all those custom settings choices. Can't figure that one out for sure.

    Hope all this helps somebody.
