Until 2 days ago I have been successfully running Audials one 2019 (paid version) on an old computer with Windows 7 Home Premium. However presently the program is not functioning any longer, instead, I continue to receive the following error message: “Unable to connect to the Audial servers.” I have a good Internet connection and I followed all suggestions I could find on the Internet (Forums) to try and solve the problem to no avail. Finally, I de-installed and re-installed the program but that did not solve the problem either. Do you have any suggestions?

    Hi DJH42,

    1. have you already checked that your antivirus/firewall is not blocking the servers? or do you use any proxy/vpn setting?

    2. Audials has published on their website more details about older versions, check here https://audials.com/en/service and currently this article was published too: https://support.audials.com/hc/en-us/articles/6186391476370-Windows-7-related-issue might also be related to your case

    Hello,

    we have to apologize:
In the last announcement on our site, we pointed out that there could be problems with Audials' "Code Signing Certificate" under Windows 7 without the necessary updates (and how to fix it).
    That's true.

However, we have found an OTHER bug that can cause a "crash on startup" on some Windows 7 installations.
We were able to reproduce and fix this crash. The crash was caused by an automatically updated component "Streaming Service".
To get the installation working again, please try this:

    1) Uninstall Audials
    Via Windows, "Programs and Features"
This will delete the crashing component

    2) Install Audials from here:

    https://support.audials.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000185360-Previous-Versions-Downloads?_ga=2.148505783.1667139882.1656307997-2030077871.1655702221

This will also load the latest version of the "Streaming Service" component that we just released.
After that, Audials should start normally again.

    Best Regards

    Addendum:
    a) Audials does not support Windows 7 operating system for several years. And the older versions of Audials that still supported Windows7 are no longer maintained.
    b) Microsoft has also stopped supporting Windows 7 for some time. There are various serious security issues, and there can be incompatibilities with all kinds of software such as e.g. Audials.
We still found and fixed this current bug because our goal is to do everything we can to support our users.
But we cannot promise this for the future – like most manufacturers, we no longer regularly test Audials on Windows7.
We therefore ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND that all users upgrade to Windows 10 (or 11).
