Since iTunes 12.7, converting music or audiobooks via the CD Burner option fails with some, or all, of the following phenomena:
- "Include CD Text" field is disabled
- Audials appears stuck waiting for files from iTunes
- Audials PC, all product generations
Our developers are currently investigating the issue and possible solutions.
We would like to ask for your patience. Once we have news and progress on the matter, we will post new info here.
The problem has not yet been fixed. The good news is that we now have a pretty clear idea of what's going wrong, and what to do to fix it.
The development team works hard on the solution every day. We are fully aware that you may find it unreasonable if we now ask you to have even more patience. Yet there is nothing further we can do to speed up the solution, at the moment.
Thank you for your understanding! Stay tuned!
The development team has made decent progress in the matter, and all obstacles that potentially would have prohibited a solution could be cleared.
We are now certain that we can bring back the feature soon.
It will still take some more days of fine-tuning the last details, testing and finally shipping the fix with an update.
Thank you for your continued patience! Stay tuned!
We have good news: After a few delays, the development team was finally able to solve the problem!
The new version is currently in testing - and we're really putting it under the microscope, because we want to be sure we release a bug-free version.
We are currently planning to release the new version no later than next week.
Thank you for your patience!
We have good news: The problem that iTunes audiobooks are no longer convertible via the Audials Virtual CD Driver (VCD) has been fixed.
Please follow these instructions:
- Download and install the new version 2018.1.44000.0 from our download website:
Note: It is not necessary to uninstall the existing version.
- Please let us know if the new version works bug-free for you.
Finally, we would like to give you some information to explain how the problem came about:
The Audials CD Virtual Driver has been successfully deployed on IMAPI with Multimedia Command (MMC) Version 3 for several years. Starting with version 12.7, iTunes uses the new IMAPI version 2, which is based on MMC version 6. To adapt to IMAPI 2 and MMC-6, the virtual CD driver had to be completely re-implemented. This was a big task, and therefore took time.
We are glad that we can finally solve the problem, and hopefully to your satisfaction. However, we are aware that we have demanded an extraordinary amount of patience from you.
We would like to apologize again for the inconvenience! We would like to thank you for all the information we have received from you and have helped us with the research and solution.
