Audials 2020 Slow Startup
When Audials One 2020 starts, it always loads my music collection first and writes a media database. I have a large collection and it takes 20-30 minutes. Is there any way to stop it doing this, please? I only use Audials for recording online and don't use it for accessing my music library, so all this work it is doing at the start is unnecessary. It only makes it worse when it crashes and I have to do it all over again.
Cheers,
Tarn

tarnkirk is all your music/video collection saved on a local location? you should try to move all your music/video collection from C:\Users\xxxxx\Music\Audials and C:\Users\xxxxx\Videos\Audials (output folder) then Audials shouldn't try any longer to load that music\video collection.

Hi Andreea,
Thanks very much for your reply. The vast majority of my music and video collection were not in the two folders you suggested, only those files generated by Audials. Nevertheless, I moved all of those Audials-generated files out of the two folders into new ones but unfortunately it made little or no difference to the start-up time of Audials. From the media items eventually listed, it's clear that Audials is indexing my entire C:\Users\xxxxx\Music and C:\Users\xxxxx\Videos folders ,and I don't really want to empty those.
However your answer resulted in my looking a little deeper, and I found that if I hover over Storage: PC at the foot of the screen and click on the right-arrow next to it, then under Current standard storage, by selecting Configure filenames, folders,..., I can remove the Music and Videos folders from the start-up. So... success!
Thanks again,
Tarn

Hey Tarn perhaps reaching out to Audials support could provide a solution. They might have a workaround or settings adjustment to skip the media database loading during startup improving your experience.
