Audials One 2020 Song Cut Problems
Just purchased Audials 2020 and am moving from Tunebite 2019. I switched to record 24-bit audio FLACs from Tidal and TB 2019 does not do that. Problem I am having is that the song cuts off the beginning of each song and the beginning of the next song is at the end of the song. I have tried three different sound cards thinking there was some sort of latency issue, but all have the same issue. I have not tried any other music services, as I just want hi-res. So maybe it's just a tidal thing?
Anyone else have this problem? Are there other options I need to check in Audials to make this work better? At this point I am cutting all the songs manually in Audacity.

It has done this from day 1 of buying this software, recording from Amazon music stream. Very frustrating, apparently nothing is being done about it and same results in 2020 as 2019. It completely sucks to have the first note or beat of a song beginning cut from the recording.

Dear all, I have the same problem recording from Tidal. I asked to support but they didn't anwer. Trying to use 'Other Source' I have problem because it ask to install some Audial Virtual Driver that never became right installed. The you lost the naming of song. Any other way to solve ? If not I have to continue using my external digital soundcard and my Tascam digital recorder.
Thanks

That’s weird because I didn’t notice it with Tunebite 2019. But it is definitely there with Audials One 2020, and it makes it pretty much unusable. Let’s hope someone that can do something about it is listening. I’ve been a customer for a long time and have purchased the new product every year. I actually started searching for new streaming recording services today...

I have almost the same problem with Audials 2020 and Tidal - the beginning of each song is lost. It doesn't show up on the end of the previous song though. Using "Other Source" is a workaround but I'm not sure the quality of "Master" audio is the same. If I A-B them "Other Source" doesn't seem to sound quite the same even after volume leveling. Reported it weeks ago and sent all the logs and screenshots but haven't heard anything. At least I know it isn't only me.

Thank's for your suggestion to change recording software. Do you know about audio quality ?
Now I am using a PC + digital audio card SpDif output + Tascam digital recorder. This chain guarantee the original audio quality. Concerning the tag it is easy to do automatically using Mp3tag Editor.
In the next days I'll try AudFree.
Thanks.

Precisely! This software doesn't work as advertised and I won't be upgrading. It is silly when they send me offers for 2020 version when the problems of the 2019 version haven't been fixed. This thread is getting pretty long now, you would think that Audials would have correct this by now.
And to those proposing that I do it another way...uh no thanks, I'm not going to spend my time tagging all of my downloads with title, artist, etc. That's why I bought this software, to do this all for me and get it right!!
So anyone have ideas for other software that works like it is suppose to? Wondershare? I need something that works.

Audials lost a customer. At the end I bought a licence of AudFree.
It works perfect for me.
Sometime needs to run with 1x option.
Sometime need little modification to tags, but nothing special.
About High Resolution, normally I use Tidal direct. I make the backup only for 'in case' of future use and because my age my ears aren't able to hear the difference. So fix to 48Kz for HD files and end of matter.
Good Music Listening

I can record from the Tidal app, but the song cutting at the start and finish is wrong at least 9/10 times so it's useless. Others have also experienced the same, reported the problem, sent logs, etc but there's no response or fix. So you *may* be able to also experience this by selecting "Audials Sound Capturing" as the "Sound Output" in Tidal app (select the icon for the setting in the lower-right of Tidal, just to the right of the volume control). I was happy with Audials for many years but this has ruined the experience for me (and, judging from the comments, others as well).

If you have a problem with the needed driver, I would delete Audials then re-install a fresh copy. Then you should have no problem. When you record using "Other Source", you can either input the name of the Artist and the Album or you can just let Audials try to find the names. It helps a lot if you click on the "Queue" button in the lower right hand corner of the Tidal App, which then brings up a list of all of the songs that are on the current playlist--apparently Audials can use this to help it Tag each file. Good luck, Stefano!

Audials dept ask me for report/debugging files but stll no answer.
For now I solved in this way: I start the recording. When I see Audial start to record I press << back on Tidal for to restart playing again from beginning. This must be done before the setting of time threeshold of minimum save file you have into the sandwich menù. I setted at 35 sec. Then I use Audacity to cut out the initial wrong song part. I hope developers solve the problem.

I am having the same issue with Napster recording. I never had it in 2019, but now in new 2020, I do. It starts the song properly, but it adds 1 second from the next song to the end of the current song. In addition, It is not adding the album or track number metadata as it did before, just the artist and title. I am recording in MP3 format as I always have on the same PC, same audio card, etc.

Yeah, kind of surprised no one from Audials has at least chimed in yet. As far as other ideas, I ended up switching over last night From Tidal to Amazon’s HD Music service (up to 24 bit 192 kHz). It was a free 90-day trial so I thought what the heck. I can tell you the cutting works a lot better with the amazon streaming service. It’s still not perfect, but a lot better. Plus Audials let’s you do 2x recording with Amazon’s service and it’s also cheaper than Tidal. just a thought for those looking for an alternative.

How do you get Audials to record within the Tidals App? I have Sound Control and Audials set on Realtek HD Audio at 24bits and 96khz to match Tidal stream in Master Quality and all I get is Waiting..... Audials never sees the stream within Tidal App but will record on web but the web does not offer Master Quality. Any advice?

* Just upgraded to 2020> Does not record and cut Spotify Playlist Tracks through download or Live record feature.
* Other similar software have no issues.
Even on Normal record mode : it wont record full Track?
Had it record a Spotify playlist (Was faster than other software) But due to it causing crackles and even cutting songs incomplete it is useless to use anymore for this feature.
Software does not functioning as sold therefore will Request Full Refund.
Will no longer purchase software.
Buyers Beware.

Here are some possible solutions (I'm sure there are others):
1. Get AudFree, which is great. There is no support for 24/192 recording, but if you understand how MQA works, you will realize that no software can support 24/192 Tidal recording at present--you need a digital output from your MQA-compatible DAC to a digital recorder. I don't think this is allowed at present (digital output from MQA), but I haven't invested any time in figuring it out.
2. Get Amazon Unlimited HD. A poster above noted that Amazon works much better with Audials. This is true in my experience, too.
3. If you insist on keeping the Audials/TIDAL combo intact, try reversing the playback order of your playlists/CDs (click on the arrow for the order of playback so the last song is played back first, etc.). I found this is very effective in many cases. I can't vouch that it is 100% effective, but it fixes a long of song cut problems, and I had some good results with this before moving on to AudFree..

I leave Audials from long time and I move to AudFree. It works great. Plus Mp3Tag (www.mp3tag.de) to adjust the names. Especially when I record compilation of songs, I need to set Album Artist and convert the filename to a single folder.

This is my last comment here on the defective Tidal recording option in Audials unless something changes dramatically... Gseiberth, I think you have a few options:
1. Use the "Other source" recording option and accept a slightly lower sampling rate--this is not perfect, but works better than the Tidal recording option, which has been proven to be ineffective. If you are recording an album, sometimes creating a playlist with the song order reversed works better.
2. Demand a refund for defective software, since you just purchased it, and get AudFree for Tidal, which is fantastic (limited to 24/96 recording, as all Tidal recordings will be, since MQA unfolding to 24/192 disables any ability to record the stream directly)
3. Cancel Tidal and use Amazon Music HD, which will stream at up to 24/192. The Amazon recording option in Audials works very well.
Best wishes.
