Are you planning support for audio books?
I've been a loyal customer since Audials first began (in those days is was multiple applications).
Suggestion:
Would be great to have options to convert audio files into files compatible with creating 'audiobooks.' For example, convert mp3 to M4B. This would include mp3, WMA, Ogg, Wav, MP4 (M4A &/M4B) and other popular (or up & coming) formats.
Having a nice little utility built-in to Audials that would allow users to then take those converted files and use them to 'create' an AudioBook would be very nice. Audials would then truly be a 'one-for-all' or 'all-things-audio' application like your name implies.
The applications for this are enormous. Lots of folks like to listen to audiobooks...there tens of thousands of books in the public domain. Some of these are made into audiobooks by volunteers; quality suffers substantially.
However, getting the text of these public domain books is both free, and simple as downloading the file. Using inexpensive Text-To-Speech software, the text can become an instant audio file. But then it needs to be converted before it can become a true 'audiobook' for use on any electronic device--phones, iPod, PCs. There are a few paid (and some free online) options to do the conversions, but none measure up to Audials standards. And having consolidated services as I've mentioned, would, in my humble opinion, make Audials that much better. People use what works...people keep using what works well.
Anyway, something to think about. Even if you didn't include the audiobook creation utility I mention, it would still be nice to have the file conversion capability to allow converted audio files to be used to produce audiobooks.
Thanks for a great product...and here's to even better to come!!
Kind Regards,
BJ
